In May, Gaybourhood East hosts a books special, featuring authors Jodie Lancet-Grant (The Pirate Mums, The Marvellous Doctors for Magical Creatures) and Lotte Jeffs (My Magic Family, This Love, The Queer Parent). Expect inclusive storytelling and activities for kids aged 2 – 9, plus Lotte’s take on hosting the UK’s only queer families podcast and being co-author of The Queer Parent, the first LGBTQ+ parenting book to be published by a major publisher. Jodie will also introduce her brand new book ‘The Legend of the Wild West Twins’ – a feisty feminist fable set in a Wild West populated with kids only! Books will be on sale on the day, sorted by Leyton bookshop Phlox.

Other authors will be welcome to talk about their books and upcoming projects at the open mic 4pm.
