Gaybourhood East is a volunteer-led, not for profit community driven project, to bring together East London’s LGBTIQA+ parents & their children to socialise, dance and organise family friendly events. Gaybourhood East was set up to provide a social space for queer families in London. Since 2023 we have been growing in numbers as a community to provide mutual aid and support to Queer Parents and their families.
Gaybourhood East is a relaxed and fully inclusive space and we welcome different family types and children of all ages that are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. LGBTIQA+ is used universally and stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, questioning/queer, asexual/allies, plus. We are thankful for allyship but our meetups are not aimed at straight parent allies but specifically for Queer Parents.
Gaybourhood East exists with your support, both in attending the event, helping with run an activity at an event or leading on organising an event or donating to our running costs. Gaybourhood East is entirely run by volunteer queer parents. Have a theme in mind? Get in touch!
Our events are generally free but you can support us by being a member and paying a small subscription fee to help us cover our decorations, activities and crafts costs. With the generosity of the community we aim to bring in paid guests to run events and organise workshops. You can also help us by spreading the word about our events and telling other rainbow families about us.
